The FVSU NAA, Inc. Board voted to establish an annual giving campaign which would be an ongoing anniversary scholarship fundraiser. So, just as we donated $125 in celebration of the 125th Anniversary, we are encouraging you to donate $126 this year. You can donate more than the amount requested. The goal of the campaign is to raise $126,000+ while seeking at least 1,000 donors. The campaign ended on December 31, 2021!

Specifically, the following areas have been identified to receive the proceeds:

  1. Gap Scholarship Fund

Response to the ongoing threat of losing students who are in good standing, but face the possibility of ending
their college careers due to shortfalls of only a few hundred dollars.

  2. General Scholarship Fund

Initiative provided by the Fort Valley State University National Alumni Association, Inc. through this fundraising, recognizing students who aspire to complete their education at FVSU and strive to serve as positive role models and change the trajectories for their families, friends and their communities. There is a Scholarship Committee that will create the scholarship criteria and selection of those students that meet those requirements. The scholarship information will be distributed through the university email serve to the current students.

  3. Cooperative Development Energy Program (CDEP) Scholarship Fund

The Fort Valley State University Cooperative Developmental Energy Program has one of the best track-records in the nation for recruiting minorities and women in science and engineering disciplines.

  4. Athletic Scholarships (Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Softball, Track/Field, Tennis, Volleyball)

Initiative provided by the Fort Valley State University National Alumni Association, Inc. through this fundraising, supporting the non-revenue generating sports team, which includes Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Softball, Track & Field, Tennis and Volleyball.

  5. “Blue Machine” Marching Band Scholarship

Initiative provided by the Fort Valley State University National Alumni Association, Inc. through this fundraising, supporting the “Blue Machine” Marching Band.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are tax deductible. Donors will receive an end of the year tax letter and a donor pin as a thank you in making of your donation. In January 2022, we will announce the final donation amount and disbursement of funds to the university.
