University System of Georgia Strategic Planning Forum

  • Fort Valley State University C.W. Pettigrew Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Please be aware of two of five regional forums being held as part of the University System of Georgia’s 2019 strategic planning effort which have now been rescheduled.

Forums at Fort Valley State University and Valdosta State University were rescheduled as a precaution due to Hurricane Dorian earlier this month. The new dates and times are:

  • 10 a.m. on Sept. 23 at Fort Valley State University’s C.W. Pettigrew Center; and

  • 10 a.m. on Sept. 25 at Valdosta State University’s Magnolia Room, University Center.

This should not be confused with FVSU's strategic planning 2020-2025 efforts, about which you received information last week. The two planning efforts are distinct activities.

Other USG public forums have been or are being held as originally scheduled, including Sept. 19 at 3:15 p.m. in the Savannah Convention Center.

More details about each forum is posted on the system’s homepage at https://www.usg.edu/strategic_planning. Each forum is expected to last about 1.5 hours. All the forums, while open to the public, are a direct opportunity for key stakeholder groups—especially those of faculty, staff and students—to provide face-to-face feedback on the new USG strategic plan’s direction. We very much hope you can participate.

FVSUNAA May Is Membership Matters

As a Fort Valley State University National Alumni Association Alumni member, you understand the value of your membership. Share that knowledge with your friends in the community. Like you, they also want to sharpen their skills, link up with other individuals who support Fort Valley State University and the Fort Valley State University National Alumni Association, and assist the next generation of Wildcats by providing career and/or employment opportunities. Therefore, while we should always think MEMBERSHIP, I have designated May as the month for chapters to hold strategically targeted events which focus on increasing membership at both the local and national levels. Your district representatives are asked to work with chapters on hosting membership drives and reporting the increased numbers. The chapter with the greatest increase in members will be recognized. In addition, I would like to spotlight membership events on our website and social media.  Therefore, I ask that you please send me photos of your membership events. Please, email your photographs at the national alumni association email at fvsunationalalumni@gmail.com
