Wildcat Athletics Awards Ceremony

Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Intercollegiate Athletics Department will proudly honor nearly 200 student-athletes who participated in Wildcats Athletics this season, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the HPE Complex on the FVSU campus. The athletics department is requesting to help defray the cost of honoring our student-athletes by agreeing to become a sponsor of a "Team" or "Individual" award. Your name or organization's name will be highlighted during the program. Contributions must be received on or before April 12, 2018. Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased through the FVSU Athletics Department. Any individual or organization making contributions will receive one ticket for every $100 donated to this event. You will enjoy that incomparable feeling of knowing that you have contributed to the positive memory of some of FVSU's best and brightest students; OUR student-athletes!

JOHN W. DAVISON LECTURE SERIES: MC LYTE. Our John W. Davison Lecture series continues with hip hop artist, actor, author, activist MC Lyte. Born Lana Michelle Moorer, she is considered to be a pioneer for women in the music industry. She is the author of Unstoppable: Igniting the Power Within to Achieve Your Greatest Potential. This event will be held Thursday, April 26th at 7 p.m. at the C.W. Pettigrew Center and is free and open to the public. More details to come.

FVSU FAVOR Fund Day Party

The FVSU FAVOR & The Mu Nu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. presents its First Annual Day Party on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2PM  until 8PM at the Chocolate Room, 3150 Highway 41 N Suite 2004, Centerville, GA. There will be live performances from "Sax Man" Damon Brown & DJ Shells. The entry fee is $15. There will be Wildcat Drink Specials & heavy hors d'oeuvres. 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit scholarships for FVSU Women's Athletics. If you are unable to attend, please, donate online through Facebook @FVSUFAVORFund or by clicking on the button below to the university website. Select "FAVOR" in the drop down menu for "Fund". SOUTH CENTRAL ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP BANQUET.
The Scholarship Committee of The South Central Georgia Alumni Chapter of The Fort Valley State University is busy making plans for the 2nd Annual Scholarship Banquet. The Banquet will be on May 19, 2018 at The Onion Inn located at 2507 E. First Street in Vidalia, GA. The event will start at 6:00 pm. The guest speaker will be the President of Fort Valley State University, Dr. Paul Jones.

The South Central Georgia Alumni Chapter is composed of members from Appling, Bulloch, Candler, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Johnson, Montgomery, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen and Wheeler Counties. Fort Valley State University Alumni organization’s mission is to connect and reconnect alumni with each other and with the university.

FVSU Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter Annual Golf Tourney

FVSU DC ANNUAL CHARITABLE GOLF TOURNEY. The Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter of the Fort Valley State University National Alumni Association, Inc. will be having their annual charitable golf tournament on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Pohick Bay Golf Course, Lorton, Virginia. This event continues to provide college scholarships and tuition assistance to deserving students, and to assist in sustaining the Chapter's community service programs in the Washington DC Metro area. Over the the past five years, the DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter has provided over $25,000 in support of scholarships and campus student activities, and other DC area community service projects. The chapter is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempted organization. Any amount of donation is welcomed. The chapter is seeking sponsors for this event. Sponsorship levels are available below.

You will get a guided tour of Washington DC including the WWII Memorial, Capitol Hill, Embassy Row, the Korean War, Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial and much more. The cost of the trip is $560.* There is a $75 due upon signing. *Price per person, based on double occupancy. The Georgia Doom has four former FVSU Wildcat football players on their team. And for your halftime enjoyment, the battle between the "Blue Machine Marching Band" of Fort Valley State versus the "Golden Ram Showband" of Albany State. Tickets start at $15. We hope to see you come out and represent the REAL Blue and Gold!

Malone Youth Motivation Task Force Conference, beginning Tuesday, April 10-12th. Join us at the Special Assembly Program on Tuesday, April 10th at 11:00 AM in the C.W. Pettigrew Center Auditorium featuring Abrahana James '17.

The goal of this program is to increase middle/high and college students awareness of career opportunities, to introduce students to the private and public job market, to offer insight into the skills and attitudes they need to succeed in their careers; and to introduce successful role models and professionals that are FVSU alumni.

Davison Lecture Series continues with a discussion led by Angela  Rye, the popular political strategist, commentator, and activist who will discuss "Activism in Action" on Tuesday, March 27th at 7 p.m. at the C.W. Pettigrew Center on the campus of Fort Valley State University. Rye is Principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a political advocacy firm in the nation's capital. The event is free and open to the public.

33rd Annual GAAHBSU Legislative Conference

The 33rd Annual GAAHBSU (Georgia Alumni Association of Historically Black State Universities) Legislative Conference will be held on January 23–25, 2018, at the Ramada Plaza Atlanta Capitol Park Hotel (Downtown Atlanta). GAAHBSU is a consortium of the National Alumni Associations of Albany State University, Fort Valley State University, and Savannah State University. It is organized to advance their missions and to help ensure the futures of these historically significant institutions. The legislative conference provides a forum for alumni and officials of Georgia's Historically Black Public Universities to dialogue with elected officials and key state leaders to address the universities' common goals and concerns. Registration is $130.00. Hotel reservation is $119.00 with a cut-off date of January 2, 2018. Contact for hotel reservations is 404.591.2000. Hope to see you there.

Memorial Services for Dr. Odessa McNair

Fort Valley State University will be the site of  Dr. Odessa Harrison McNair’s memorial service Monday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. Dr. McNair, FVSU Class of 1954, is a legend on the campus of Fort Valley State University. Every time a special occasion–like Founders Day—takes place, students, faculty, and staff members sing the university's alma mater, written in part by McNair. Due to the anticipated attendance, travel and parking around the C. W. Pettigrew Center and on State University Drive will be impacted. All faculty, staff and students are asked to reserve parking spaces near the C. W. Pettigrew Center for family and friends of Dr. McNair from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. Faculty and staff are directed to park between the C.V. Troup Building and the Ag Communications Building. Student parking is available near Wildcat Commons. The FVSU shuttle bus will transport students to campus destinations.

Thank you for your cooperation as we offer our support to the community and McNair family.

Fort Valley State will defend its SIAC Football crown after capturing the Eastern Division on Saturday, November 11 at 2PM, Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats will play the winner of the Tuskegee/Miles game on Saturday. The game will also be televised on ESPN3. Check your local cable listing for the channel. We are asking Wildcats fans and alumni to come out and support the team by wearing your Blue and Gold. Get your tickets!

28th Annual Fountain City Classic

Tickets for the 28th Annual Fountain City Classic are available at the FVSU Business office. Tickets are $20.00 for general admission and $12.00 for current FVSU students. The tickets can be purchased between the hours of 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday on the second floor of the Troup building.

Buy your tickets now to insure your seat at McClung Stadium. There will be alumni, fans and friends there to celebrate this storied rivalry between the Wildcats of Fort Valley State University and the Rams of Albany State University. Will you be there to see the Rams attempt to take revenge on the Wildcats for last years defeat. Do you want to see the reigning Fountain City Classic and SIAC Champion Wildcats show the Rams how its done one more time. Tickets are available and remember, purchasing tickets from the FVSU ticket office helps the Wildcats provide scholarships to deserving student athletes.
